Problem
Jenius sells insurance from several partners inside its banking app. Every partner had its own API and file formats, policy workflows still had manual steps, and file exchange with partners depended on a licensed commercial transfer product.
What I did
- Built microservices in Express.js and Spring Boot that put five insurance partners behind one consistent integration layer.
- Moved high-volume flows onto Kafka events with Redis caching to raise throughput.
- Built an in-house MFT/SFTP service for scheduled partner file exchange, replacing the commercial product.
- Set a testing standard for the team: full unit coverage on new and refactored modules (Mocha, Chai, Sinon), plus k6 load tests.
- Built React dashboards for priority customers and insurance activation that took over manual reporting.
